The Centre for Global Logistics and Manufacturing Strategies (GLAMS) is hosting its flagship event of the year, the Global Logistics Summit (GLS), in association with the Hero Mindmine Institute on December 5-6, 2006. The Honourable Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh is going to deliver the inaugural address at the event. Several other leading industrialists, academicians and senior government officials have agreed to be session anchors and speakers at the Summit.

You can register for this program at http://www.isb.edu/gls_2006/gls2006reg.aspx by paying Rs. 1000 under the students category.

"With the theme "Logistics for Global Competitive Advantage and Rural Growth," the Summit will explore the challenges and opportunities of rural as well as global supply chain networks in India. The use of streamlined supply chain processes and organised logistics in the rural areas will enable shrinking of the bottom of the pyramid and increase the penetration levels of many products to the rural areas. Similarly, the Indian manufacturing industry can be strategically positioned to lead the world. The Summit will help set the agenda to take the agribusiness and manufacturing industry to the next level of competitiveness." (Quote from the ISB website http://www.isb.edu)
